A daily mitzvah checklist

Modeh Ani, Morning Blessings, Shema, Tefillin, Tehillim, Give Charity, an act of kindness, blessings on food, Daily Wisdom, the mezuzah and the evening Shema. Tick them off as you go.

๐Ÿ”ฅ

Streaks that mean something

One mitzvah a day keeps your streak alive. Shabbat and Yom Tov never break it. Missed a day? Do three mitzvot today and yesterday is restored.

๐Ÿ†

Trophies worth sharing

From 'First win' and 'Double Digits' to 'No Days Off', 'Tefillin Era' and 'Massive Tzaddik'. Milestones with names your friends will actually react to.

โฐ

Mitzvot in the order of your day

Morning mitzvot appear in the morning, the evening Shema at night. Time-windowed cards and gentle reminders morning, midday and evening.

โœจ

A bonus mitzvah every day

One of the 613 mitzvot, glowing at the top of your list: visiting the sick, returning lost property, avoiding harmful speech, comforting mourners.

๐Ÿคฒ

Every mitzvah earns tzedakah

Each tick adds donor-funded money to your Mitzvah Wallet. Give it to a charity you choose. Practice that helps someone else.

What is a mitzvah tracker?

A mitzvah tracker is a habit app for Jewish practice. Instead of generic habits, the list is made up of mitzvot: the daily prayers, blessings and acts that make up a Jewish day. Orah gives you that list, explains each item in a sentence, and lets you tick it off. Over days and weeks the ticks become a streak, and the streak becomes a practice.

What mitzvot are in the app?

Orah ships with a core daily list and a growing catalogue you can add from. Each one has its full text (Hebrew, transliteration and English) and a rotating daily insight.

Built like a habit app, not a guilt app

Orah borrows what works from Duolingo, Strava and Headspace: a daily ring, streaks, kudos from friends, milestone celebrations. It leaves out what doesn't belong: no paid streak freezes, no manufactured scarcity, no guilt in your notifications. The test for every feature is simple: would your rabbi endorse it if they read the code?

Mitzvot are better together

Follow friends and family to see each other's mitzvot and give a Shkoyach. Join a circle to light a shared ring each day and climb a weekly leaderboard. Schools use circles for classes and houses. Read more about the social side of Orah.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Orah a free mitzvah app?

Yes. Orah is free on the App Store and Google Play, with no subscription and no ads.

Do I have to do every mitzvah every day?

No. One mitzvah keeps your streak alive. Orah is built around encouragement, not pressure: do what feels right today, and tomorrow is another small chance.

Can I add my own mitzvot?

You can add mitzvot from Orah's catalogue (tzitzit, Mincha, Birkat Hamazon, honouring parents and more) and hide any that aren't for you. The core list stays so your streak always has an anchor.

What happens on Shabbat?

Orah locks at candle-lighting time for your location and reopens after Havdalah. Shabbat and Yom Tov never add to or break a streak.

Does the app have the prayer texts?

Yes. Every prayer-type mitzvah has the full Hebrew text with transliteration and English, including Ashkenazi and Sephardi versions where they differ.
